I swear (and really, I'm not joking) that my boss is Bi-polar! 
I was sleeping because I work 3rd and am working tonight. It's going to be a crazy night because of the Kentucky Derby and it's just another busy Saturday at the casino. I had only had about 4 1/2 hours of sleep today when the neighbor - bless his soul - decided to "help" us by cutting down a dead tree in the back yard. Chainsaws and sleep DO NOT MIX!
Anyway, while I was up I thought I'd check my work emails which I frequently do from home. I won't go into great detail but let me just say that working for someone who changes their mind every damn day is frustrating enough! But when you couple that with someone who is an ego-maniac, arrogant and not too bright...well it's downright EXHAUSTING and INFURIATING!
Another snide email, reminding me "who's the boss", making me look like an ass (when I did what I was supposed to do) and feeling incompetent - which I AM NOT! And OF COURSE he always copies our director and the director of Human Resources. Why??? To try to make himself look like the big guy? To make me look like an idiot? This is not the first time. It has happened MANY times. I've had talks with our director and he always suggests I talk to my manager. Which I did not 3 days ago and we were on the same page. WTF!
Now we're back to his email rants, making Laurie look like an idiot to the upper management and honestly, this is the BIGGEST over-reaction he's ever had over absolutely nothing. Up, up, up goes the blood pressure.
Now I should be sleeping but between the chainsaw and how freaking angry I am...sleep will not come. He's coming in on my shift tonight - WONDERFUL! I've asked the 2nd shift supervisor to stick around as my back-up and a 2nd pair of ears/eyes. We have each other's backs, for sure. He's done this crazy $hit to her, too.
I just keep trying to remind myself - at least you have a job, this too shall pass and you're much smarter than him. That should be enough but not today!
Well, the ranting is over. Thanks everyone for letting me blow off some steam. Now, if I could just find some dog-gone GGs the time would pass a little faster and a little sweeter.
