The whole posting can be found in this forum a few pages back. Needless to say it was very very very trying. This all happened the first week of May 2006. I had tried working with the bank only to hear 'tough cookies' over and over. I ended up contacting the OCC and filed a complaint against the bank. WILL WONDERS NEVER CEASE!!!! CHECKED MY MAILBOX YESTERDAY AND THERE WAS A CHECK FROM THE BANK FOR THE FULL.. YES I SAID FULL.. AMOUNT!!! There was a letter stating that 'perhaps the bank representatives could have done better explaining the process to me.'.. and get this.. 'at this time you are not welcome to become a Bank----- customer again'. WELL HURT MY FEELINGS ROFL Like I would choose that bank againt after a battle lasting 6 months to get them to own up to their failures!! Anyway, there may be hope after all folks!!! I can not balance my account because of this pending crap. My checks bounce because of it and out of nowhere, money will appear in my account. I'm not talking $10 or $20. It's more like $400 to $800. My Bank is unsympathetic. They told me that when I register my bank card with a third party I am literally giving those people permission to do what they want with my money.   2  vinylwm 12/8/2006 1:47:21 PM Re: Typical Typical arrogant attitude from a bank that gets a clip round the corporate ear after treating a customer badly. Smarting from the humiliation like a spoilt child unexpectedly reprimanded by an Auntie that rarely visits but takes no crap - they throw a massive tantrum as there is nothing else they can do. Out of spite, they ban you from the bank knowing that no-one can really survive in modern society without a bank account, and this is the only way they can "smash your toys" It happens all the time here, as our FSA and Banking Ombudsman have been laying into the banks swollen profits gained through illegal charges and misleading sales practices. However, the ombudsman has an agreement that does not allow the whole banking undustry to leave any one individual without a bank - although the account of last resort is pretty crap. Unfortunately, debit cards, although preferred by the receiving companies, offer nowhere near the consumer protection of credit cards, cash, or even the old fashioned cheque.   Back to Top Back
