About Gone Gambling

What is Gone Gambling?

Gone Gambling is a portal site dedicated to online gambling in its various forms. We provide information on various gambling-related topics, as well as offering our members a wide range of benefits - including the opportunity to win bonus money at online casinos.

Gone Gambling is not an online casino but the site does have many games, competitions and activities that are available to members for free. Members can win points (which can be converted into casino bonuses), free casino money, and even cash.

Gone Gambling is not a "watchdog" site either - we simply do not have the time or resources to mediate disputes between players and random casinos. We will, however, get involved if a member of Gone Gambling has a problem with a gambling site which sponsors or advertises with Gone Gambling. We find that most disputes are caused by simple misunderstandings that can be easily rectified (once the actual nature of the problem is determined). [See: Can you help me with a casino problem?]

Games & Prizes

What games can I play here?

There are many games and competitions available at Gone Gambling. Most of them are listed in the main site navigation, and on the games page. The games here tend to have some sort of "twist" or special features that make them unique to Gone Gambling - for example: Our Onion Roulette uses a deck of cards instead of a wheel, and our magical Scratchie tickets let you "hold" symbols from one ticket to the next. Then of course there's our famous Onion Races.

We have slot machines, keno, bingo, a treasure hunt and much more, so if you aren't a member yet, signup now and join in the fun!

What can I win here?

There are several types of prizes that you can win at Gone Gambling. Most of them involve casino account bonuses or GG Points (which can be converted to casino bonuses), but there are also a few cash prizes. The table below explains the main prize types and their benefits.

Prize type Explanation
GG Points The currency of Gone Gambling. Most games cost GG Points to play, and most also pay out GG Points for wins. When you have accumulated enough GG Points you can use them to "convert" to a bonus deposit at your chosen casino (conditions apply). [More information]
GetLucky vouchers One of our games is called GetLucky, and it can only be played using these special "GetLucky vouchers" (i.e. you can't use your GG Points to play). Vouchers can be won on various games, awarded to specific members by Gone Gambling, or given out to all members on special occasions. You can also choose to convert your GG Points to GetLucky vouchers instead of casino bonuses... If you really want to...
Onion Race bets Occasionally you will win a bet on the Onion Races. This will generally be either a "win" bet or a "place" bet on a particular onion in a particular race.
RPG Jackpot entries Entries in the Random Prize Game. Every few minutes a username is chosen at random from the Gone Gambling user database - if the selected user has entered that draw then they win the GG Point prize, otherwise the prize jackpots.
Dealer Bonuses Collect all of the Dealer Bonuses for a particular game and you'll be rewarded with a bonus deposit with one of the sponsors of that game. Details vary depending on the game, so see the instruction page for each game for more information (Dealer Bonuses are currently available on these games: Cash Salad, Advance, Totally Random, Onion Roulette.)
Ten Spot Bonuses Can be won playing GetLucky or Boom Or Bust, and can contribute to a bonus deposit win. [More information].
Casino Bonus Deposits Free casino money! What could be better? [See: What is a Casino Bonus?]
Cash Scattered around the site are some very nice cash prizes (the biggest at the moment is $7,500). Win one of these and John will personally deposit the win amount into your bank account.

Casino Bonuses & Conversions

What is a casino bonus / account bonus / bonus deposit?

Many online gambling sites offer incentives to people to encourage them to sign up and play. For example, XYZ Casino might offer you a 100% bonus with every deposit - this means that if you deposit $50 of your own money the casino will add an extra $50 to your account, giving you a total of $100 to play with. The bonuses usually have conditions attached, so that you can't simply cash out the bonus money.

Some of the casinos and other gambling sites that sponsor Gone Gambling also offer bonuses that are available exclusively to Gone Gambling members. These bonuses can be claimed in a number of ways, including: winning a bonus on a game; converting GG Points into a bonus; taking advantage of special promotional deals. Some bonuses apply to members who open new accounts with particular casinos, other bonuses are available to members with existing accounts.

By actively participating in the various activities available on the Gone Gambling site, members can potentially claim hundreds of dollars per month in bonuses - significantly extending their playing time.

How do I claim casino bonuses?

When you win any casino bonus you will be sent an email explaining exactly what you need to do to claim that bonus.

How do GG Point conversions work?

VERY IMPORTANT: It is vital that you read and understand everything in this section. If you need further help, or do not understand something, please seek further assistance.

A conversion occurs when you trade in your points for a bonus at a participating casino. GG Points are worth one cent each (U.S.) and can be converted in whole dollar increments from $20 to $25 (i.e. 2000 to 2,500 GG Points). [Learn more about GG Points]

Before you convert, you must have deposited and played $50 of your own money with your nominated casino in the past 30 days. Note: Because of the "new player" bonuses that casinos already offer, your first ever deposit with the casino will not make you eligible for a conversion.

You can nominate to convert automatically when your points exceed 2000, or you can put your points "on hold" and convert manually, as explained below. Either way you choose, you must first enter your real money account numbers or casino IDs in the relevant boxes in the Members Only Area.

What is a casino ID?

A casino ID (or casino account number) is provided to you by a casino when you register with that casino. It is the same number or ID that you use to log in to the casino.

Entering casino IDs

  1. Login to the Members Only Area.
  2. Scroll down the page to the list of sponsoring casinos - you will notice that each casino has a box next to it's name.
  3. For each casino that you have an account with, carefully type your casino ID for that casino in the box, then click on the "Save" button.

IMPORTANT: You must click the "Save" button next to each casino immediately after you enter your casino ID for that casino. You can not enter several casino IDs and then click on one Save button - each Save button applies only to the casino that it appears next to. Always double-check the page when you are finished, to make sure all of your casino IDs have been saved correctly.

EVEN MORE IMPORTANT: You must make sure you enter your casino IDs correctly! If you do not, the casino will not be able to match your Gone Gambling conversion with your casino account, and you will not receive your bonus. DO NOT email us after this has happened and ask us to fix it - it is your responsibility to ensure you have entered the correct IDs in the Members Area.

How to convert automatically

  1. Review the list of sponsoring casinos (in the Members Area). Any that have a "Conversion" checkbox next to their name are participating in the GG Point conversion program.
  2. Select the casino that you would like to convert with and make sure your casino ID is correctly entered in the box (see above).
  3. Tick the Conversion checkbox next to the casino name, and click the "Save" button.

Now when your GG Points balance reaches or exceeds 2000, your points will automatically be converted into a bonus. A winning email will be sent to you and to the casino.

How to convert manually (points on hold)

Instead of choosing a casino to automatically convert with, you can elect to put your GG Points "On Hold". You do this by ticking the box next to the HOLD option, near the bottom of the page in the Members Area. When your points are on hold, any points over 1,999 get sent directly to your GG Bank. (Log in to the Members Only Area for information about the bank.)

If you choose to put your points on HOLD, you have the option to convert any whole dollar amount between $20 and $25, depending on how many points you have. You are allowed to make one bank withdrawal of up to 2,500 GG Points in a 6 or 7 hour period, so if you have 1,999 in your players account and over 501 GG Points in the bank then you can convert up to $25.

To convert manually:

  1. Take your points off HOLD by proceeding with the next step.
  2. Select the casino that you want your points converted to by clicking on the conversion box next to the casino name and clicking the Save button. (Again make sure your account number or casino ID is entered correctly.)
  3. Make a withdrawal from the bank of up to 501 GG Points. (You can only do this if you have not made any withdrawal in the past 6 or 7 hours and you actually have that many points in the bank. If you do not have a withdrawal form available in the Members Only Area then you are not eligible for a withdrawal at this time.)
  4. Wait for the Gone Gambling computer to convert your points. This should only take a few minutes.
  5. You should receive your bonus within 24 hours, but it can take up to 72 hours.

  1. Login to the Members Area.
  2. Select the "Change your membership details" link.
  3. Check the box labelled "Accept Fellow Emails"
  4. Save the changes.

You will now be able to receive email from other members.

| Contents | Top of page |

Why aren't I getting your emails?

There are a few reasons why email sent to you from Gone Gambling may be delayed or not arrive at all. Some of the main ones are listed below:

Incorrect email address

If you have stopped receiving ANY email from Gone Gambling you should first check your account details in the Members Area to make sure your email address is entered correctly. If you have changed email accounts you need to tell us about it, or all of your GG email will continue to go to your old address.

Spam

It is a sad fact that spam (i.e. unwanted, bulk, advertising email) is slowly choking the email system. About the only weapon currently available is spam "filtering", which tries to detect and block individual spam emails - these work fairly well, but the down side is that legitimate email sometimes gets lost along the way. A message sent to you from Gone Gambling might get filtered by one of the network carriers between GG and you, by your Internet service provider, or by anti-spam software on your own computer.

Even if our email makes it to your inbox, it's possible you may not notice it amongst the dozens of sneaky spam emails that avoided the spam filters, and you may accidentally delete our message yourself!

For more information on Spam filtering, and how to make sure you get all of your Gone Gambling email, see our Missing Emails page.

AOL

If you are an AOL user then don't expect to get too many emails from Gone Gambling. AOL are particularly stern with their filtering, and most GG emails get blocked. Consider opening a free email account with Yahoo, and make sure you update your Gone Gambling member information with the Yahoo address. [See also: our Missing Emails page]

Mail queues

Gone Gambling occasionally sends out email to all members, for example our weekly newsletter. Under some circumstances this can cause a massive backlog of emails which can take a long time to be delivered.

You didn't win

We investigate many complaints from people who think their winning email has gone missing, only to discover that a lot of them didn't win in the first place. Some prizes are only awarded if specific criteria are met (e.g. you have deposited and played through a particular amount with a sponsoring casino), so make sure you read the guidelines carefully to see if you were eligible for your "win".

Resending lost emails

If you are certain that you have won something but have not received an email, or you have not received our regular newsletter, you can log into the Members Area and request that one of these be resent.

| Contents | Top of page |

Why isn't there anyone in chat?

At Gone Gambling, our members tend to use the forums for most of their communications. Our members are busy people, after all - busy playing at our sponsoring casinos with all of the bonus deposits they have won, and busy playing our own unique games so they can win even more bonus deposits!

There are regular "feature" chats that take place, often with celebrity guests or casino representatives. Prizes are often given out, and there can be 60, 70 or more members in the chat room at once. To see if there is a feature chat due soon, check the countdown clock on any forum page or on the GG Toolbar.

General Help

How can I get help?

If you are feeling bewildered, don't know what to do, have used up all your GG Points or just generally feel lost, DON'T PANIC! Help is available.

Your help options:

1. This FAQ page

This page has lots of useful information that may help you. Check out the contents to see if your questions have already been answered here, or scan through the whole page at your leisure. You may like to bookmark this page (add it to your browser "favourites" list, or make a shortcut to it) so that you can find it easily whenever you need it.

2. Use live support

There is a Live Help chatroom setup on the site where you can speak to experienced members and seek their advice. The friendly Support Members will be happy to help you with any problems. There may be times when there are no support members available to chat with - if this is the case simply try again later, or try one of the other options described here. (Note that to use any of the chat rooms on Gone Gambling you will need to have a Java-enabled browser. If you don't know what that means, don't worry - just try and enter and see what happens...)

Live support is available from most pages of the Gone Gambling site by clicking on this "Live Help" banner on the left side of the screen:

3. Post in the forums

If you are a member, you can post messages in the Gone Gambling forum (subject to "new user" restrictions). If you can't find the information you need on this page, and nobody is available in Live Help (or you can't access the Live Help chatroom), then try posting a message in the Member Support Forum. One of the other members will be sure to respond - but you will need to remember to check back later to read any responses. While you are there you might like to read through some of the other messages people have submitted; the Member Support Forum is specifically for members who are having difficulties, so you are sure to find useful hints and tips there.

4. Email Member Support

Member support is available by email, as well as by live chat. Go to the Members Support page for a list of members you can email, and also for some more information about some specific game issues.

5. Ask GAIA

GAIA is our resident robot onion with attitude. You can ask her questions from the Ask GAIA page. Her answers may not always be helpful (in fact she can be quite abusive) but if you ask the right questions, and if she is in a good mood, and the wind is blowing in the right direction, you just might get something useful out of her. At the very least she might serve as good stress relief. Just watch out for her whip...

6. Email Gone Gambling

This should be your last resort. We get so many emails each day (including enormous amounts of spam) that it is almost impossible to keep up. However, if you have exhausted all other avenues and don't feel like you are getting anywhere, send a message to emailus@GoneGambling.com and we will see what we can do. (Our first response will most likely be to direct you to Member Support, so you had better try there first, and let us know in your email that you have tried there first...)

I've got plenty of GG Points - now what?

Some members like to accumulate GG Points for their own sake, like a "score". If you'd like to compete for the top spot then you are certainly welcome to try, however the real value of GG Points is that they can be converted into bonus money at online casinos and other gambling sites.

If you have a total of more than 2000 GG Points, you can trade them in for casino account bonuses. This is covered in the section Casino bonuses and conversions, in particular under the heading How do GG Point conversions work?

If you are lucky enough to become "GG Wealthy" then you will be in a good position - you will be able to spend some on conversions and have some left over to continue playing games here. Don't get too cocky though! From time to time you will probably find yourself "GG Poor", in which case you may find the following section useful...

I've got no GG Points left! Eeek!

Don't worry if you don't have any points. Every member has been there at some stage. The good news is that there are a number of ways you can build up your points from scratch. The GG Points page has general information about increasing your points, but if you are down to zero (or less!) then the free GG Points link on the left of every page on the site is the place for you to visit.

How do I pay for a winning bid on the auctions?

When you win an Auction you will receive a winning email from the Auction Rooms, that will include instructions on how to pay. Most times you will simply be required to deposit with the relevant casino, who will then credit your bonus.

How do I know if I won an auction?

All auction wins are notified by email. Also your most recent auction wins will be listed on the auction bidding page. If you won the bidding on an auction but did not get the winning email, you should download the casino from the sponsor links above the Gone Gambling forum. Then send proof of your deposit to Gone Gambling explaining which auction bonus you are claiming.

Can you help me with a casino problem?

Our mediation policy

Gone Gambling is not a "watchdog" site - we simply do not have the time or resources to mediate disputes between players and random casinos. We will, however, get involved if a member of Gone Gambling has a problem with a gambling site which sponsors or advertises with Gone Gambling. We find that most disputes are caused by simple misunderstandings that can be easily rectified (once the actual nature of the problem is determined).

DO NOT ask for help by posting a message in the general forum that "XYZ casino has problems". There is a specific Casino Problems forum that you can post to, or you can ask the support members in the Live Support Chat. If all else fails email Gone Gambling and we will see what we can do to set things straight.

Be specific about the problem

Please provide detailed information about the problem you are having. Members and players often do not adequately explain their problem, which can make troubleshooting a long and painful process. Sending an email with the single word "HELP" in it is pointless and a waste of everyone's time; similarly, if you are asked to provide more detail about a particular aspect of your situation, it is a good idea to actually provide more detail - simply rewording your previous vague description will not be useful.

For sites not promoted by Gone Gambling

If you are having problems with a site that is not a sponsor of Gone Gambling, and you have tried everything within your power to resolve the issue yourself, try approaching the following people:

Tell me about the business behind GG

"Gone Gambling" is owned by Thornowl Pty. Ltd. (ACN: 053 273 788)

Thornowl is a privately owned Australian company which has been trading since 1992. Managing Director John Abbott has always had a passion for gambling and a desire to gain an edge in every gambling situation.

John has a familiarity with gambling and in particular racing, gleaned through his years as the official starter of thousands of greyhound races. He also spent several years as a photo finish operator for both harness and greyhound meetings, and did a two year stint as Secretary Manager of a Greyhound Racing Club. Additionally, John has written articles and provided selections on greyhound racing for a local newspaper and television news.

Thornowl Pty. Ltd. started promoting gambling and business related products via "snail mail" in 1992, and has grown steadily each year. In April 1998 Thornowl launched its first web site under the trading name "JT's Systems Shop". The name of the site was later changed to "Gone Gambling". Traffic to the site has increased steadily month-by-month, and Gone Gambling now boasts a huge member database and list of satisfied customers that includes people from all over the world.
