• Hi and welcome to GoneGambling

Newsletter, Sept. 12

It's been such a long time (too long!) since I've written a 'real' newsletter. While this will still be slightly abbreviated, it's the closest thing to a newsletter I'm able to come up with.

As you may recall, I've had a LOT on my plate recently: A house that was riddled with black mold and a fiancé who became quite ill from it...finding a new home, packing the old home and moving...preparing for my upcoming wedding...and massive tooth/mouth pain. The latter is becoming the most difficult, as I cannot have the necessary surgery until after the wedding-the pain is incredibly distracting and it seems as if it's getting worse every day.

I'd like to say that things are easing up, but really, they're not. It hit me just last night that the wedding is less than three weeks away. PANIC! There is SO very much to do-I've been putting things off because of the move and now I'm freaking out that I won't get everything done. I'm quite certain I could wallpaper my entire home with all the Post-It notes and to-do lists I have written. While I'm looking forward to the wedding, I'll be so relieved/happy when it's all over with. I dunno...I was under the impression that the weeks leading up to a wedding would be stressful, but at the same time fun and filled with joy. I've managed to get the stressful stuff, but I'm still waiting on the joy and fun.

Now before I sound too much like Debbee Downer, I'm actually quite happy. It may not sound like it, but that's just because I'm overwhelmed. The truth of the matter is I have an amazing life that is soon going to become that much more incredible.

The good stuff is continued, below...

ELIMINATIONS UPDATE

Cool beans. One of the twins is GONE! One less annoying whiner to have around!

Four members accurately picked Julia to be tossed and they're now enjoying another notch up the leaderboard along with a tidy sum of 2,500 GG's! Those members who took a stab at Eliminations but picked incorrect received 250 GG's for their efforts.

Now, let's talk about this coming week, because it's gonna be tricky...

There are TWO live Evictions this week--one on Tuesday and the next on Wednesday. Because of this, you will be making TWO separate Eiiminations picks. The first pick is for Round 11, which represents Tuesday's Eviction. The next pick will be Round 12, which is for Wednesday's Eviction. Be sure to get your picks in quickly, as Eliminations for this coming week will close early in the day, Tuesday (for both Rounds).

TOURNAMENT NEWS

Adding to my anxiety is the notion that because no one has yet to win the Tournament Triathlon, meaning the October Triathlon Bounty will be rising to a ridiculous, bank-breaking SEVEN MILLION GG's...AND(!!!)...$700 in iNetBet casino cash! C'mon, boys and girls! I want someone to cash in on this Bounty, dammit! It's still shocking to me that since the inception of the Triathlon, no one has managed to win the big loot. In the meantime, we have two fun Tournaments set up for this weekend:

EARTHQUAKE Tournament for Individuals - begins Friday, 1AM, EDT

KIDNAPPED Team Tournament - begins Saturday, 1AM, EDT

Each Tournament runs three days.

Have fun and remember to play nice with others!

AND NOW FOR THE GOOD STUFF

So, while I'm moaning and groaning about the tough stuff I've been dealing with and the stress of the next few weeks, I've not lost sight of how fortunate and blessed I am.

I'm going to be marrying a great guy! It's all so crazy! I never wanted to get married, but somehow Joe managed to turn my thinking around on the subject and now I'm gonna be a Mrs.!

  • We're now living in a house that won't make us sick. This house is only temporary (yep, we're gonna have to move again, when we have time to find a larger home more suitable for our needs), but it's home and Joe, the pups and I are all relieved to be here.
  • I have the most incredible and supportive circle of friends and family and in just a few weeks, I'll be surrounded by most of them. The wedding will be great, but it's friends and family that make it truly special. I love these people!
  • My pups. Ahhhhhhhhh. When things get to be too much, even just a few minutes spent rolling around with them brings me to a better place. Funny how these creatures have such a profound effect on people's lives.
  • I have been so fortunate to be working in an industry I love, making a decent living, working from home and as an added bonus, seeing the world because of it. GoneGambling was where I got my start, more than 15 years ago...and it's still very much a driving force in my life.

Now remember, over the past couple weeks I've mentioned there would be some interesting news, right? It's time to let you in on what this news is...and this section of 'Good Stuff' and all the things I'm grateful for is the perfect place...

Effective October 1st, I will be the new owner of GoneGambling!

I'm thrilled about this-a new home...new husband...and now I'll be a business owner, all at once!

This was all very unexpected and the timing was certainly crazy, but this was something I could not turn down. Bryan Bailey (Casinomeister and current owner of GoneGambling) came to me with what could only be described as a gift--the opportunity to own the site I've loved and cared about for all these years. For Bryan, the time involved with GoneGambling was preventing him from pursuing other interests and by selling the site to me, he'll now be free to spend more time on CasinoMeister and other things.

For everyone involved (including you and our other members), the transition should be seamless. An added bonus in all this is that after having a heart-to-heart with Jeff (our wonderful, yet somewhat MIA programmer), he has committed to be available on a more regular basis-and not just for emergencies, but also for some future development. Of course, our other best asset, Deedeemoe will continue to be her wonderful, helpful, assistant self she has always been. What would we do without Miss Moe?!? I don't ever want to find out!

Now if all this isn't enough to tell you about, well, I'm pregnant!

Ok...just kidding. Just wanted to see if you were still reading. :p

CASINO OF THE WEEK/MEMBER OF THE WEEK/GAME OF THE WEEK/NEWSLETTERS, ETC.

As I already mentioned, this is a somewhat abbreviated newsletter, so the 'Of The Week' features are still on holiday. The next full newsletter will be whipped up the first week of October, chock full of cool tales, I'm sure. In the interim, I doubt you'll be heartbroken when I tell you that in place of the newsletter, you'll be receiving GetLucky mailings!

LAST BUT NOT LEAST

Sappy Moment Alert: I just want to take a moment to thank you and all the members at GoneGambling. You've all been so patient and understanding over the past weeks with all I've had going on and it's so appreciated. I've always said the heart of GoneGambling is our members and it's so very true.

Also, we have amazing sponsors and advertisers that keep GoneGambling viable. These folks all deserve a massive shout-out, each and every one of them.

Lastly, to my wonderful, incredible, current-but-soon-not-to-be-boss, amazing friend, Bryan Bailey, thank you. You've always been there for me and I hope you know how much I appreciate and value you. You're da best!

With all that sap I've just laid down, I think it's best I wrap up this newsletter and wish you all a wonderful weekend and week ahead. And as always, win BIG!!!
