Dear GG Member,
My hubby Joe and I bought a new home, which required a complete renovation/remodel. We've ditched every bit of flooring... taken down countless walls... raised ceilings... building an entire kitchen from scratch... the list goes on and on. We thought we would have 8 weeks to get things done (which is a ridiculously short amount of time), but in fact, escrow closed late. In total, we've had to make do with just over 5 weeks to get things done. I'm not exaggerating, there's been crews of people working at the new house, 16 hours each day in the hopes of getting the place ready for move in.
Did I mention we move December 27th??? Just two days after Christmas, which is only NINE days away? And with all the craziness at the new house, we have to get the old house packed up!
And as for Christmas? I can't even begin to rant about what a miserable inconvenience the holidays are for me this year.
I've yet to come up with a list of those folks I need to buy gifts for... which means I've not bought so much as one single little gift.
Last year, I baked more than 120 loaves of bread. So far this year, I've baked six. Three of which had to be tossed because I forgot to watch the clock (I'm a 'REAL' baker - I don't believe in setting alarms!). Gifting folks with burnt bread really doesn't follow the spirit of Christmas.
When it comes right down to it, it's very possible that the only people in my life to receive any joy and merriment this year will be you and the rest of the GoneGambling gang!
