I hope everybody's taking some time out this Memorial Day Weekend to relax and remember. I would like to re-post some words on Memorial Day from our member doc3738:

Hope whatever your plans are they will include taking a few minutes to visit a Veteran Memorial
or a grave site. Tell your little ones what it is about.
We are slowly letting what these days mean slip away into becoming nothing more than a day off
and to have fun.
Let them ask questions as they walk around and look at the names and dates and photos or engraved symbols.
We took our granddaughters to one and was really surprised at the questions they ask. They walked away with a little different perspective of what this day really stands for.
Please do not thank a Veteran to day for their service. This is not our day it is to the ones
that are no longer with us.
Buy a small flag and go place it by a headstone of a fallen soldier or place it at a Memorial
Then go have BBQ and a good time knowing that because of them you do what you do.
