Yes, I remember that racing game was of ultimate importance then when it was for cash lol. John musta been flush then but sheesh that was a freak win...I'm not sure what year either.

Do you remember who the member was that actually won big at one of the MG sites? It was like over 300,000 or something like that and then told us all about his win...ah one can dream huh? I just remember something funny about the whole thing in chat. He said he never realized how fun "SHOPPING" was as a guy until he won that money lol. It stuck with me I guess.:)

If I "remember" right, I think he hit a progressive JP at one of the MG casino's. For the life of me I don't know who that was either. 10 yrs ago is a long time:)

The winner was mtc351--one of the nicest and most deserving members of all time. I remember it SO very well. Mitch hit the Treasure Nile jackpot for a tidy $385k. He wanted to give John and me a cut of the money because he believed had it not been for GG, he would never have won the $ (we declined any gift, of course). Mitch was a hard-working guy who was only able to deposit once or twice a month, due to tight finances. Once he won the money, he contacted John and me to let us know that because this was such a life-changing amount of money, he felt it was best to live his life offline without the temptation of further gambling, in an effort to hang on to this cash. Truly a wonderful story!

As far as the Horse Racing game, I really don't remember who won that...but I DO remember John whining about it! :D:D:D

I sorta remember but not really recall that large of win.

Did you know that littlebit won $2500 on the horse race at one time and I won $500 on it. It was really one of the most exciting wins I ever won...Why? Cause I couldn't reverse it!

Good post, Kathy. I too remember when that player hit the Treasure Nile and sailed off into the sunset with his bag of loot.. LOL Now, that was the smartest man on the planet! I wonder if he ever played again after that? If anyone still keeps in touch with him let us know how he is doing and if that cured him for life. We always say, "if I could just hit something BIG." Right? My problem when I hit that 57K (plus) another 8 right on top is that I was a complete novice and had only joined a casino about 2 or three weeks earlier and hardly played at all. Now I say, if only I could hit ANYTHING again..! LMBO

WOW! Di, I never knew you hit on them darn horses, or that Trish did either, I don't know where I was but I was a member then. Belated congratulations and you are like me, saving the picture.. I bet if the horses still paid real cash we would see a lot more people playing here. I can't believe the lack of players lately, it seems like no one is playing anything... where the heck did they go? Well. anyway, I'm glad some of the best have remained! You both are included in that thought.

I think what drove some off fair or not I am not saying one way or the other or if it is still that way
When John started the other site a decision was made in how depositors and non depositors could win any points on GG
Some of the depositors felt it unfair that the non pays would win as much
He latter made the statement and I guess carried thru that as a non depositor you could only get half of what a win would be if you did not deposit or support the new site
Now ,please don't jump down my throat and say it never happened .I don't know and do not remember the details just remember that he did bring it up and I did understand he made the change
I have no idea how much that affected a lot of folks
Another problem is not being able to deposit and enjoy the slots

This post burned me up. Unfortunately, Gaz had a way of making suppositions which were not borne of fact...and even more unfortunately, some members believed what she'd alleged.

No one is playing anything??? Hardly. In the average day, we give away anywhere between $1 - 2k in prizes (that's actual casino cash). In the average month, between $35 - 60k.

The truth of the matter is there is little difference in the number of members playing the games, from the point of when Bryan took the site over...and John had cut the cash prizes long before Bryan purchased the site (save but a couple cash prizes). What IS different is our overall traffic (those numbers ARE down) and the number of folks participating in the forum.

With our traffic, much of this has to do with SEO (search engine optimization) as well as changing interests by the public at large. This is always something Bryan and I struggle with and we're determined to twist and tweak until we eventually get things right.

As I've discussed so often over the past several months, forum participation is a tough one. We can beg and plead for folks to participate, but you know that old adage, 'you can bring a horse to water...'. Hopefully with time, we can get the participation up in the forum.

This has been an ongoing issue, before, during and after TAG City. I wrote about this very issue in a recent newsletter, that being we have an abundance of members who enjoy the games at GG, but do nothing to help our bottom line. Were this a perfect world, all of our members would be contributing in one way or another, be it by depositing with our sponsoring/advertising casinos or spending time in chat or participating here in the forum. It's frustrating seeing a huge chunk of members simply playing the games...asking for handouts...and contributing nothing in return. At the same time, we've always had an open-door policy and I don't see this changing at any point. All we can hope is that the members I've been speaking of will come out of their shells and throw GG a bone by participating in one form or fashion.

Ok...end of soap box rant. :puke:

I don't feel you were on a soap box
I think you added info that makes it more understandable
Hopefully more will start participating in ways you mention
I will try to post more or be around more in the future
